JPEG XS is ideally suited for professional video networks, broadcast studios and other multimedia segments. It is the preferred video codec for a large number of solutions ranging from applications and plugins up to hosted services and platforms.
The MainConcept JPEG XS SDK featuring encoder and decoder components – licensed from Fraunhofer IIS – provide the codecs of choice for IP transmission workflows based on SMPTE ST 2110, a suite of standards defining professional media of managed IP networks. As a new member of the MainConcept EVA (Easy Video API) technology portfolio, both encoder and decoder libraries are running on CPU featuring SIMD optimizations (AVX2) as well as on NVIDIA GPU supporting CUDA hardware acceleration. The libraries support 4:2:0, 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 chroma formats up to 8K60.

With MainConcept EVA (Easy Video API), use the same API for CPU and GPU encoding and decoding, significantly extending flexibility while keeping integration time to a minimum. The CPU libraries make use of AVX2 extensions to speed-up processing when no compliant GPU is available. When an NVIDA board with CUDA support is used, processing can be offloaded to the GPU, letting the CPU focus elsewhere.
